The West Coast Child Welfare Trainers Conference
is a DYNAMIC forum for trainers within the field of child welfare and foster care to exchange ideas, improve skills, and support each other in the effort to improve the care that families receive from the staff we train.
We intentionally move each year to a different location in order to encourage different participants from the local area to attend with minimal travel costs--- some of our host sites aren't even on the West Coast-- or on any body of water!
Participants have come from Boston, Quebec, Hawaii, North Carolina, Minnesota, Nevada, Idaho, New Mexico, Idaho, Colorado, Arizona, Alaska, and all of the West Coast states! Workshop presenters and facilitators (who are also Participants and pay for registration like everyone else) maintain a wide-range of skills and experiences. The program's focus is on participants learning from each other, where presenters & facilitators provide additional ideas and strategies and tools to consider! Feel free to check out our History and Past Conferences and review some of the prior programs as well as our Trainer Resources page. For additional questions about the conference, contact Irene Becker, LCSW, Conference Chair at ibecker@projects.sdsu.edu .
